Terms of use
How you may use Teenwork
Effective May 20, 2026
1. Acceptance
By visiting Teenwork, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
2. Informational only — not legal advice
Teenwork publishes plain-English summaries of public federal and state child-labor statutes and regulatory guidance. The site is informational and is not legal advice. Teenwork is not a law firm and does not represent clients. No attorney-client relationship is created by reading this site or by using the lookup widget.
Before relying on any rule on this site for hiring, scheduling, permit applications, or compliance decisions, verify the rule directly with the relevant state department of labor (the contact link is on each state page) or with a licensed attorney in your state.
3. Accuracy and updates
We compile each state page from the state's own labor code, the state department of labor's child-labor page, and the US Department of Labor Wage & Hour Division. State legislatures amend these rules from time to time; the linked state-code citation on every state page is the source of truth. We make no guarantee that the site is current with respect to amendments made after the date on which a page was last verified.
4. License to use the site
You may read Teenwork for personal, educational, and small-business compliance research purposes. You may share specific page links and quote short excerpts with attribution. You may not scrape large portions of the site, mirror the data, or republish the compiled content as your own work product.
The underlying laws are public-domain. Our compilation, plain- English summaries, page design, and lookup logic are not.
5. Prohibited use
- Reverse-engineer the site to extract bulk data programmatically outside of normal browsing.
- Use the site or its content to operate a competing aggregator without independently sourcing the data.
- Use the site in any way that violates applicable law or infringes any third party's rights.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or current.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Teenwork and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of your use of (or inability to use) the site or any reliance on the information published here.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top reflects the latest version. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state of the site operator's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or related to these terms or your use of the site will be resolved in courts of competent jurisdiction in that state.
