    Colorado does not require a state work permit — employers keep age verification on file. The Colorado Department of Labor enforces the Youth Employment Opportunity Act through complaint and inspection.

  • Counter food-service or drive-thru (no flame cooking)

    Colorado caps 14-15-year-olds at 3 hrs per school day, 18 per school week, 7 AM–7 PM during the school year. On non-school days the start can shift as early as 5 AM and the cutoff extends to 9:30 PM.

  • Office or clerical work — filing, data entry, reception
  • Tutoring younger students
  • Park, recreation, or community-center program assistant
  • Hand-tool yard work for neighbors
