Distinctive Oregon rule: Oregon uses an employer-based permit. The employer applies online with the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI) for an Annual Employment Certificate covering all minor employees at that worksite — individual minors do not apply. The certificate must be renewed yearly; the employer keeps age verification on file for each minor.
